REGULAR CAMPAIGNS ON KICKSTARTER
By June 2023, we started regularly launching campaigns on Kickstarter. Our campaign, Full Metal Brotherhood STL bits and models for wargames, marked the beginning of our ongoing success on the platform. Kickstarter gave us the opportunity to engage directly with our community and bring new projects to life through their support. See the campaign here.
FIRST CAMPAIGN ON KICKSTARTER
In August 2022, we took another big step by launching our first campaign on Kickstarter Dawnguard Army STL models for wargames. This campaign wasn’t successful, but it taught us a lot. Check out the campaign here.
A BIG CHANGE
In February 2022, we made a bold decision to shift our focus to digital products. Instead of just selling physical miniatures, we started offering STL files for 3D printing. This lets us reach customers all around the world with no shipping headaches! Around the same time, we launched our Patreon page, giving fans a way to support us and get exclusive content. This was also when we started running crowdfunding campaigns to bring new projects to life.
THE BIRTH OF DakkaDakka.Store
On October 4, 2020, we officially launched DakkaDakka.Store. We picked this date in honor of “Orktober,” a nod to the Warhammer community we love. Back then, we were still selling through Etsy, but we were working hard on building our own website to connect with customers directly.
OUR FIRST OFFICE
In the autumn of 2020, we moved into our very first office! It was a huge milestone for us. Now, we could work more efficiently and manage our operations under one roof. It felt like a real step toward making DakkaDakka.Store a serious player in the 3D printing world.
GROWING AND LEARNING
By August, the number of orders had increased, and to keep up with both speed and quality, we decided to open our own production facility and rented our first premises. This was a significant step that gave us more control over the quality of our miniatures. It was a crucial move that laid the foundation for even bigger things to come.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
We began our journey in April 2020 as a 3D printing company. In the following months, we experimented with various ideas and eventually decided to focus on creating proxy miniatures for wargames. Initially, we outsourced production to meet demand, but this was just the beginning of our story.
